Shahmaran-Queen of Serpents

Shahmaran is a mythical creature in easthern and southern Anatolia in Turkey, Iran, Iraq. The image of snake woman carries culturel, religious and archetypal meanings. Who was a symbol of wisdom, womanhood, abundance, fertility. Inspired by tree painting under glass or sous-verre pictures (Sous-verre is the art of painting pictures on the back of glass which was so popular in Turkey in the19th and early 20th centuries).
